Continuing our celebration of Chinese New Year, Kensington Wade children from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 took part in a Chinese dance workshop, spending time learning about and practising their dancing with traditional Chinese flags!
Kensington Wade continued our Chinese New Year Celebrations with week with a celebratory fair. Children from Kensington Wade and Kensington Primary academy watched a traditional dragon dance, then took part in traditional games like calligraphy, dressing up and Chinese riddles.
Last night parents and friends of Kensington Wade celebrated Chinese New Year Eve with dumpling making and music from international musician Beibei Wang.

The children at Kensington Wade have been learning about animals this term, and today Safari Pete visited the school today to teach our children about some exotic animals.
Everyone got to see some meerkats, a snake, some dragon lizards and even a a crocodile!
Today the children of of Kensington Wade gave their Christmas performance for the parents.

Our pupils had a special assembly on Friday to learn about the remembrance day and the significance to the armistice centenary, during which our visiting trumpeter gave moving renditions of of Reveille and the Last Post for our pupils.
Year 1 pupils made a poppy wreath poster to commemorate the occasion.
On halloween morning the Nursery children went on an “Art in the Park” trip to Holland park. The children have been learning about the artwork Andy Goldsworthy which uses all natural materials, and so went to the park to collect fallen leaves and sticks to create their own natural art. On the way back the children spotted some spooky halloween spiders!

Our autumn open morning was a busy and fun day out, with our teachers running fun activities for children in the classrooms. Despite the rain, many parents took the opportunity to visit the school and meet teachers and staff face-to-face, tour our facilities and find out more about Kensington Wade.

Our Nursery, Reception and Year 1’s gave an impressive performance in our Harvest festival on Friday to commemorate the mid-autumn festival celebrations. The children gave renditions of songs and recitals in both English and Chinese, with parents and friends of the school packing into our music room to show their support.
