Kensington Wade School Joins Beat The Street Challenge

4th March 24

We are thrilled to announce that Kensington Wade School has joined the Beat The Street challenge, a council initiative promoting physical activity and community engagement throughout Hammersmith & Fulham. Our participation in this endeavour was recently featured in a South London news article.

Beat The Street encourages participants to walk, cycle, or wheel through the borough, fostering healthy habits and reducing health inequalities. Led by engagement coordinator Chloe Allison, the challenge has already seen tremendous enthusiasm from over 7000 participants, including pupils from 58 schools across the area.

Our Headmaster Huw May shared his excitement for our school’s involvement, noting that Kensington Wade students are actively planning new routes to school to increase our game score. “Beat the Street has really grasped the children’s and parents’ imagination. I can see that we are doing quite well in gaining points, but let’s see if we can gain even more.”

We are proud to be part of this movement towards a healthier and more active lifestyle, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our school community.

The challenge concludes on April 10th, so let’s keep up the momentum and make our mark on the leaderboard!
