At Kensington Wade we understand the prospect of selecting a senior school can be daunting and we provide our families with full support at 11+ to try and make the process as stress-free as possible.
We recognise that every pupil at Kensington Wade is on a different educational path so offer a completely bespoke approach to ensure every child achieves their academic potential as well as keeping our parents fully informed of their child’s progress.
From Year 3, pupils at Kensington Wade start to work towards the 11+ examination with focussed practice in non-verbal and verbal reasoning, regular online tasks in English and mathematics, a writing assessment each term, half-termly formative assessments in mathematics and comprehension and standardised assessments in October and May to monitor progress.
From Year 4 onwards children additionally take part in debating, public speaking and interview practice to build their confidence. Every child is also encouraged to create a ‘curriculum vitae’ to include their academic and personal achievements, interests and skills which provides them with hinge points for conversation during their interviews.
Our strong connections with London senior schools and boarding schools help us to advise our parents on their school search. Most importantly, we provide emotional support as our pupils’ happiness and well-being is paramount throughout the process.
