Kensington Wade Student Helene Wins First Place in ISA STEAM Competition 2024

13th March 24

We are delighted to share the exciting news that Helene, a Year 4 student at Kensington Wade School, has secured first place in the ISA STEAM Competition 2024. The nationwide competition challenges students to explore innovative solutions to modern-day problems, fostering skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), as well as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

The task our Year 4 students faced was to design and build a device capable of propelling a soft toy over a significant distance. Helene’s winning project not only demonstrated her proficiency in STEAM but also highlighted her ability to work effectively and communicate ideas clearly.

During the final round of the competition, Helene impressed the judges with her innovative device and well-delivered presentation. Her ability to address questions from the esteemed panel, which included John Wood, Former ISA Chair, and Andy Riches from the Cambridge Museum of Technology, further underscored her talent and dedication. Helene’s project stood out among the entries, earning her well-deserved recognition as the winner in the Year 3/4 category.

Congratulations, Helene, on this well-deserved win!
