Years 2-5 are getting ready for their Summer Performance in Chinese tomorrow of ‘Journey to the West’ when they will be performing to parents and guests.
Pupils in our Nursery, Reception and Year 1 gave a fantastic end of year Summer Performance in Chinese this morning. They performed a selection of ‘Chinese Proverb Stories by the Sea’ and had learnt their lines and songs beautifully .
What a busy open afternoon! We’ve had a beautiful art exhibition, musical performances, work and sport presentations and Reception’s amazing sea creature fashion show!
We were very lucky as we escaped the showers last week for both our Sports Days held on Thursday and Friday at Holland Park. The children really enjoyed taking part in their races, thank you very much to all the parents who came to support them!
Well done to Years 4 and 5 who played a mini basketball tournament yesterday against Years 4 and 5 from Redcliffe Gardens School. Lots of goals were scored and great fun was had by all at our final fixture of the term!
Nursery and Reception had a lovely outdoor art day yesterday! Year 1 explored some of the plants on our school grounds yesterday, identifying the wild plants and garden plants. They then chose their favourites and completed some observational drawings of two of their chosen plants. There was a lot of discussion between classmates on what they saw. Great work Year 1!
The children at our half term holiday camp are having lots of fun this week! Yesterday, after learning a poem about the wind, they made kites which they flew and had a paper boat race to test the strength of the wind. To support their studies on Ancient Egypt, Year 3 have been mummifying tomatoes. Firstly, the children scooped out the inside of the tomato (as Egyptians once did when they mummified people!) Then they applied hand sanitiser to the tomato to kill the bacteria before weighing the tomato and salting it. And voila! After 2 weeks…
