A bustling and thriving parent community is the foundation for any successful school environment. The parents at Kensington Wade are a diverse yet close-knit group of individuals who have embraced the bilingual education with much enthusiasm and as a result have created a very welcoming and inclusive environment, for current as well as prospective parents.
Who are Friends of Kensington Wade?
While every parent automatically becomes a part of Friends of Kensington Wade on joining the school, the core of the Friends of Kensington Wade community comprises the chairs and class representatives who have volunteered their time to serve the school community. This group not only acts as a conduit between the larger parent community and the school for any relevant ideas and feedback but also actively organises cultural, educational, social and fundraising events. Most importantly, the Friends of Kensington Wade are committed to supporting the learning and development of their children in the best possible way.
What do they do?
Over the past year, the Friends of Kensington Wade have organised some fantastic events and activities which have not only brought the parent community closer, but also raised money for the school’s chosen charities – COSMIC and Friends of Marcus Garvey – both of which were chosen by the children themselves. Some of the popular events include:
- The Kensington Wade Bake Off - judged by the Great British Bake-Off finalist Chigs
- A Chinese New Year Celebration Lunch
- Parents Bowling Social
- Parents Karaoke Social
Apart from these parents have regular social evenings, picnics and get-togethers where the children and parents have ample opportunities to socialise.
- Intellectual endeavour
- Kensington Wade actively promotes the fundamental British values. They underpin everything that the school does.
