At Kensington Wade our nursery pupils learn within a stimulating environment which encourages them to work and play in a variety of ways. Our teachers give children the opportunity to investigate and build on their interests and extend their knowledge and skills.
Nursery classes at Kensington Wade follow the Early Years Foundation Framework covering the seven areas of learning:
The curriculum at Kensington Wade is delivered through our immersive bilingual model which allows children to be exposed to both languages for equal amounts of time. This environment imitates how children learned their first language: new vocabulary is introduced in an everyday context and within a secure, engaging and supportive community. Children in nursery also receive sport and music lessons from specialist teachers.
The nursery offers a fully immersive bilingual environment, blending English and Chinese across a rich curriculum in a nurturing and stimulating setting.
Children spend equal time in English and Chinese learning environments, with each lesson delivered in one language at a time.
Nursery covers Communication, Language & Literacy (CLL) in both languages, Phonics, Maths, PSED, Music, Sport, plus the full EYFS framework.
The nursery is situated in a standalone, open-plan building with both indoor and outdoor areas that encourage self-directed play, such as cooking, painting, and water play.
A full complement of teachers and assistants ensures high levels of direct contact, stimulation, and encouragement for every child.
The nursery builds strong foundations in both languages and developmental areas, setting children up smoothly for Reception and beyond.
