Elise Y5 places second in the ISA Young Musicians Competition

Elise was selected from 70+ video entries to compete in the finals of the ISA Young Musicians Competition Junior Category (KS1 and 2) against fifteen talented young musicians from other independent schools. Elise travelled to Oxford for the finals, which were held at the Jacqueline du Pré hall at St Hilda’s college in Oxford. She was supported on the day by her sister Amelia (Year 2), family, and Mr Giffney.

The technical standard for the junior category (up to Year 6) varied from around Grade 5 to DipABRSM level. However, every performer played a piece that suited their ability with fantastic expression and perfect preparation, making for a very tough field. The judges described Elise’s performance as “mesmerising”, and she was awarded the second prize.
