Introducing Little Waders: A New Name for Our Nursery

We are delighted to introduce Little Waders, the new name for the nursery at Kensington Wade. If you have spotted families carrying the new Little Waders tote bags around the school gates, now you know what they are all about!
Little Waders is a new name, not a new nursery. Our youngest pupils will continue to enjoy the same warm, stimulating environment, the same caring team and the same fully immersive English and Mandarin bilingual education that families already know and love. The new name simply gives our nursery an identity of its own, while keeping it firmly part of the Kensington Wade family.
Life at Little Waders
Life at Little Waders is busy, fun and action-packed. Our nursery has its own standalone, open-plan building with indoor and outdoor spaces.
Children learn through the Early Years Foundation Stage, covering the seven areas of learning. Days include:
- Communication, language and literacy in both English and Mandarin
- Phonics and early maths
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Music and sport, taught by specialist teachers
Learning two languages, naturally
At Little Waders, children spend equal amounts of time learning in English and Mandarin, with each lesson taught in one language at a time. New vocabulary is introduced in an everyday context, mirroring the way children pick up their first language. With a full team of teachers and assistants, every child benefits from high levels of individual attention.

A stepping stone to school
Little Waders is designed to prepare children for the next stage of their education. By the time they move up, our nursery children are confident, curious and ready to make a smooth start in Reception at Kensington Wade and beyond.
Joining Little Waders
Children can join Little Waders from the age of three. The nursery runs from 8.00am to 3.30pm, five days a week, and we recommend full-time attendance so that children benefit from a fully immersive bilingual education.
