We have had lots of fun learning about and celebrating the Coronation. We had a special assembly this morning and had a procession of everyone wearing their crowns. This afternoon we have made ‘Kensington Wade Mess’ and had class parties. Happy Coronation weekend everyone!
Pupils were very excited to meet Camille Goodman yesterday when she came to visit Kensington Wade. Camille led a Coronation-themed workshop to different year groups and read her best-selling book ‘Mister Finch and the Queen’.
We took delivery of eight eggs yesterday and three of these have already hatched into adorable, very squeaky chicks! Pupils are taking it in turns to carefully look after the chicks and they are monitoring them in their incubator before they are able to go into their big cage. Their arrival is causing great egg-citement…
In preparation for the King’s Coronation, the whole school has been celebrating British Values Week. The children have been reflecting on British people of significance and were reminded of the 5 British values that are the cornerstone of our country: democracy, the rule of law, tolerance of other faiths, mutual respect and individual liberty.
We welcomed a number of Mandarin teachers from local senior schools to Kensington Wade this morning to our first Chinese Immersive Education Breakfast! We have had a busy week back filled with science workshops! Parent, Mr Weinhammer came to meet Years 3, 4 and 5 on Wednesday to lead a chemistry workshop.
